This multi-narrative work by playwright Lachlan Philpott, delves into the complex realities of San Francisco, questioning its reputation as a place of freedom and liberal practices. The play follows parallel storylines that unfold over the course of one night, shining a light on issues such as homelessness, the impact of the IT boom, gentrification, and the continuing legacy of the HIV pandemic. With a large cast playing multiple characters, the costume design needed to support the specificity of each actor's core character while also allowing them to be visually 'read' as a cohesive ensemble when necessary.
