Info

Hi! I’m a Melbourne-based set and costume designer with over a decade of experience creating bold, expressive visual storytelling for live performance.

My performance design practice spans a variety of companies across the independent, small-to-medium, and commercial sectors, with work in venues ranging from conventionally equipped mainstages like Arts Centre Melbourne to unconventional and repurposed spaces, including a former convent.

My design process combines tactile, hand-crafted methods – using paint, paper, and pencil – with contemporary technologies like CAD and 3D printing. I embrace an iterative, hands-on approach to explore and refine resonant visual and spatial storytelling that sensitively supports a script’s dramaturgy.

I recently designed costumes for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel in concert (Enda Markey Presents) at the Princess Theatre, featuring an all-star cast including Marina Prior and Anna O'Byrne. My costume designs for promiscuous/cities at Theatre Works were recognised with an Australian Production Design Guild Award nomination in 2022. Other work includes Lemon Tree on Dreg Street and The Mentor starring Amanda Muggleton (Theatre Works), The World According To Dinosaurs (Frenzy Theatre – VCE Playlist regional tour), The Lighthouse (BK Opera/Brunswick Mechanics Institute), If We Got Some More Cocaine I Could Show You How I Love You (Arts House Meat Market), and award-winning productions of The Leenane Trilogy (fortyfivedownstairs/Kin Collective) and Hart (She Said/Melbourne Fringe). I've also designed for St Martins Youth Arts Centre, Dancehouse, Union House Theatre, and La Mama.

While theatre design is now my core focus, my earlier practice encompassed multidisciplinary design projects, including music videos, television commercials, and fashion runway sets. These experiences honed my versatility in crafting visual concepts across diverse forms and mediums and strengthened my ability to deliver impactful designs within varied production frameworks.

I hold undergraduate and master’s degrees in theatre design from the VCA, where I was awarded the Trina Parker Scholarship in Design and now sessionally lecture. I continue to develop my practice through mentorship with leading designers, most recently assisting Kate Davis on Looking For Alibrandi (Malthouse/Belvoir) and YES (The Rabble), as well as working with Richard Roberts, Christina Smith, Zoë Atkinson, and Adam Gardnir on a variety of mainstage Australian productions.
